Issue: Xbox 360 hard drive and game achievement unlocking

Hey. Gamertag is . I have two issues in regard to my XBox 360 that I hope my fellow gamers can help me with. Please understand that any response that includes flames will be disregarded as the forums are used to get problems fixed and issues
resolved.

Issue 1: My XBox 360 is no longer accepting any game saves of any game type. I have been saving all my games onto a plug-n-play flash drive. I have cleared all game caches (on all storage media and saving devices multiple times). I can delete the info off
the internal hard drive but I can't transfer anything onto it. This includes being able to enable cloud storage: I can't download what I need for it (never got around to it before). The ONLY exception has been Mass Effect 1 DLCs "Bring Down the Sky" and "Pinnacle
Station". These DLCs are not causing any issues. I've deleted them, tried to play and save the game, then redownload the DLCs. Even without the DLCs on there, I can't save anything to the internal hard drive. Transferring game saves from the flash drive to
the internal hard drive results in an error message with no number. It can't be completed.

Issue 2: None of my newly-gained achievements have been unlocked since I started saving onto my flash drive. I can play content off the flash drive with no problem. I can save to the flash drive with no problem. I am not unlocking what I know I've gained.

Additional Notes:

I am currently playing Mass Effect. No discs are causing issues in playing. Game play isn't a problem. In the past, some Minecraft worlds have been "corrupted" and I've had to restart, thus saving the new ones to the flash drive.

Questions:

Is it possible that saving to the flash drive is preventing my achievements from being acknowledged as "achieved"? If I resolve Issue 1, will that resolve Issue 2?

Forza 5 Achievements not unlocking

There has been an ongoing issue with achievements across all games on the 360 and the One the past week. I believe the 360 achievement issue is resolved but I have been hearing there are still problems unlocking achievements on the One. Hope this helps.

xbox one crimson dragon achievements wont unlock

There was an issue recently where achievements weren't unlocking correctly. This has been fixed, but achievements could take a couple days to finally post to your account. Please see the following article that Game Informer quoted Xbox Live's Operations
Architect.

Telling you to post the customer reference number was wrong as it's not allowed on the forums.

Go to your hard drive & delete your profile ONLY,redownload it & start the game up.

The achievements may unlock then or you may have to re earn them,that usually sorts out achievement issues on the 360.

okay, so achievements will not unlock if you install the game to your hard drive. that is weird. but i got the achievements now.

All those games you listed seem to be compatible with the Xbox 360. I can not understand or indeed explain why only Halo and Halo 2 are functioning but nothing else does. However, what I do know for a fact is that for the Xbox 360 to achieve full backwards
compatibility with the original games on the BC list, it must have a fully working and 'official' Xbox 360 hard drive.

You've said that your hard drive is official, how do you know this? Did you buy your console new with the 120GB hard drive, or did you buy it separately? Bear in mind that even if you go to the settings screen and look at the hard drive, the 'Microsoft' name
next to HDD on this screen is no guarantee your hard drive is official. All Xbox 360 hard drives say 'Microsoft' here, even the fake ones.

I would say that fault is with the hard drive. It's not an issue with your console. The 360 achieves BC entirely in software, software, that is only available on a fully functional official Xbox 360 hard drive.

I have the exact same issue. I can't unlock any achievements on Xbox One games. However I can unlock achievements on Xbox 360 backwards compatible games.

That is definitely odd that this issue only seems to occur with one profile in particular. Just so that we are on the same page, you are able to unlock achievements on a different profile on the same console? Does your Xbox 360 console have an official Microsoft
hard drive inserted into the console?
