Issue with Xbox Stereo Headset Adapter and the Astro A40s

So I just got the chat adapter and updated my controller. No one can hear me when I try and talk through my Asto a40s. The game audio works just fine, but the chat feature does not. I have no idea why. The chat headset that came with the xbox one works
for chat, but not my a40s. This needs fixed!!

I am also experiencing this issue with the astro a40s. I am hoping someone finds a solution soon. I am only receiving audio through the headset adapter and not the optical cable. Frustrating!

Can someone please help me?? I followed all of the instructions to set up the adapter with my a50 but it's not picking up my voice at all.

 

Same issue with the Turtle Beach x41 - Chat volume is extremely low and I have to nearly turn game volume down all the way to hear people. My friends have reported poor quality voice coming from my headset.

 

I have the same problem, my mic sounds cracky and nobody hears me clear when playing multiplayers. I have the Razer Chimaera 5.1 connected to the stereo adapter

 

I had the same problem, but working with another player we fixed the "problem". The mic is overdriving with the new adapter. Moving the mic a lot further away from your mouth seemed to solve the problem. We have clear audio now. Also, if you're using
any headset that gets its game audio from the optical port, make sure you set the game sound mix all the way down (bottom left button on the adapter until it beeps).

 

Well having a few issues, i do not like the fact there is no mic monitor , THAT SUCKS!!.... the chat and game sound buttons are nothing more than a balance switch between the two, THAT SUCKS!!!! we need independent volume controls for each !!!! And sometimes
i have to unplug and re plug the adapter to get it working again, THAT SUCKS !!! kinda like this,,,you know how sometimes a PC will forget it has a printer or some other device hook up to it and you have to unplug and plug back the USB connector or even re
install the software to get it working again? well that's what I have to do with the adapter also,,THAT SUCKS!!! and last the battery indicator on the main screen tell you how much battery life you have,,,,its a joke..... some many times i have been in
a game and the thing runs out of power....the only way i can tell is when my audio stops or even when i hear this LOUD BUZZING NOISE scream into my ears !! so those are a few issues I am having also FYI i am using the turtle beach xo7

 

Does anyone here run Astro's without the adapter without issues?

I was considering going out and picking up an adapter today; but certainly won't

after reading all the threads...

I played TF last night with my A30's with no adaptor and little/no issues.

The only comment from my Party-mates was that my voice volume was quieter/lower than most.

But that sounds better than most people with the adapter in use.

I'm running a vanilla Optical cable, with the Bone converting to Dolby Digital.

I know the Mix Amp prefers stereo signal to reproduce surround on it's own;

but I've always run DD when available.

I'm wondering if my voice is lighter, because it's mixing my chat audio in as if I was speaking via the Kinect, etc.

First world problems....but MS should be ashamed for this.

How can you have a platform so dialed in on the 360, and then go BACKWARDS on this NEXT GEN console; baffling.

I have the same headset and my friends and I figured out that keeping the mouth piece a few inches from you mouth fixes the problem.

I have Astro A40s and keeping the mouth piece a normal distance makes it crackly.

My buddy has Turtle Beach X12s and gets the same result.

If the mic positioned right at your mouth was 0 degrees, just keep the mic at about a 90-135 degree angle away from you. Your voice will sound Skype quality after.

Note: may crackle if you yell, still needs a fix, but not a real issue for me.

 

Bump because MS needs to fix this. As others have pointed out it's obviously a software issue. My A40's sound perfectly fine in Skype as do my friend's XP500's. But if we go into party chat when we have more than 4 people or because some people don't
want to use Skype because it's truly a mess on Xbox One everyone sounds awful.

Something I'm worried about with Astro trying to do a workaround (at least they're doing something whereas MS has largely seemed to ignore this) is when MS does finally get around to fixing stuff on their end the Astro workaround will need to be re-patched
by Astro because we'll likely be too quiet then... such a mess.

 

i have been having the same problem i was actually going to return them until i read this thread so just to make sure its the adapter that's causing this all to happen i hear the sound great but it seems like i need to have the mic legit in my mouth to see
it lighting up and even then they dont even hear me talking or they say that my headset sounds like its messed up.
