Issue with Xbox One X 4K and HDR on multiple games

I have just been talking to a member of the Microsoft support team and he advised that creating a post on here would be a good idea so that they can get a head count on how many people are having the issue and may be able to provide some sort of update.
Basically when playing the formula 1 2017 game on my Xbox One X Scorpio edition there is an issue when I have the HDR option ticked in the Xbox settings. When it's on a black loading screen on the game it seems to show loads of different shades of black and
flickers badly. I have also had an issue with Fifa 18 where a silhouette of the player in the previous frame still shows as a shadow when taking a goal kick. The example I gave to Microsoft support was if a player has just blasted the ball over the bar then
Fifa 18 will show the player with his hands over his face and then when the game goes to the camera behind my keeper to take the goal kick, there is a silhouette/shadow of the player with his hands over his face which basically is the previous frame still
showing. However, the Fifa issue isn't related to HDR because even with the HDR unticked the silhouette/shadow issue is still there. Has anyone had this issue or similar issues? Btw my tv is a 4K HDR tv that I only just bought the other day. Thanks a lot

Using an Xbox One X, yes for sure yes you can still play games in 4k without the HDR. With the Xbox One S you can upscale to 4K without HDR.

Yep. I think there will be a lot of dissapointed people when they find out their 4K HDR TV won't play Xbox One 4K games because they don't have a full 18Gig HDMI pipe.

The requirement from the X to have 4K @60 and 30 Bits just to play a 4K game seems off. I can see where the bandwidth requirement would be there for 4K @60 with HDR, but I'd like to play the game in either 4K without HDR or 1080P with HDR but the current
setup on the X (and S) will not let you do this.

Odd thing is that I played Horizons:Zero Dawn on my PS4 Pro and the first thing it did was tell me I could have either 4K or HDR but not both. I chose HDR and the game looks fantastic. I can't believe the XBOX One X won't do this.

So, if you have a display that does 4K@ 24 with HDR then the XBOX One X is just a nice game machine that will play videos in HDR for you but none of the UHD features are available to you for gaming.

Microsoft, surely you can change this and allow HDR in 1080P?

 

m8 sound as if u have real motion turn on in yer tv, it leaves a trail behind on fast moving objects like fast cars and football. .turn it off will improve this from happing
