Issue with Xbox One Hard Drive

    Its too small.

Yeah I get it, 500gb was what PS4 was offering and to most consumers that looks like a lot. I knew getting the XBO would mean I wouldn't actually get the entire 500gb, I understand how hard drives work. What I didn't know was that I would be FORCED to install
each game, disk or not onto my hard drive. Currently the only big game I have is MCC, a digital purchase which is fine I understood that would be taking up space because its the reason I got the XBO. But my friend has a hand full of games and has to constantly
uninstall ones to play a new one.

I guess my question is: how much is it going to cost me to get extra storage space if I continue to buy Xbox One games? Obviously this was the ploy Microsoft schemed up from the get go. Offer what seems like a large amount of space, it was larger than the
    360. Then take up 1/3 of that space for "saves" or whatever(install files and essentials are understandable) and just wait for them to run out of room because here's the kicker. Unlike the on the 360 where installing to the HDD was an option to "optimize"
load times, we are going to make them install every game regardless if they own the disk or not. Then we will sell them external HDD's or cloud storage, whichever will make more profit. This was their plan all along, to sell storage space. They didn't care
about people selling or trading their games, they wanted to create a need for people to buy virtual storage at a premium.

So what are my external storage options and how much do they cost?

    :)

  2. External Hard Drive Issue with Xbox One?

    Hello everyone,

I have recently purchased an external hard drive for additional storage, and an external enclosure with it's own power supply and is USB 3.0 (The hard drive is an 3.5" hard drive). My problem is when I boot it up the Xbox One, it never detects the
External Hard Drive until I switch the USB port that the Enclosure is plugging into on the Xbox One
(I've been using the two on the back of the Xbox One).

    A little bit more info:

    • I was able to successfully format the drive and move my games to the external drive. When detected, I am able to play off of it like normal
    • Under Power Options, I use "Energy-Save", I purposely turned OFF the "Instant-On" option since I did not like the PSU running while I had the Xbox One off
    • I have tried Powering on the Xbox One first, then powering on the enclosure, and get the same issue
    • I have tried Powering on the enclosure first, then powering on the Xbox One and still get the same issue
    • Whenever I power off my Xbox One, I hold the Xbox Button and hit "Console Off". I then wait for the Xbox One to completely power off before turning off the enclosure
    • I leave the enclosure plugged into the Xbox One the entire time, the only time I unplug the USB is when changing ports to get the Xbox to read the drive
Has anyone else ran into this issue before?

  3. X1 won't turn on!!

    Update-

It appears to be an issue with the hard drive cables/hard drive. I took the hard drive out, turned it on and it turns on every time, but as soon I try starting it with the hard drive installed it turns on then off. The hard drive isn't the issue as I tested
my other Xbox hard drive as well.

Issue with Xbox One Hard Drive

Well, external hard drives are definitely not as pricey as they used to be. Gamestop has a full 3TB Seagate drive for like $129 right now, I think. You should be able to get a 1TB for $50-$60 at GS as well, but really, everywhere has them - Best Buy, Office
    Max, etc.

Toshiba, Seagate, Western Digital all make good options, they just have to be USB 3.0 and larger than 256 GB to work on Xbox One.

    Hope this helps!

Are you running it off of the hard drive on the Xbox One or an external one? If you are playing off of the internal drive on the Xbox One then you may want to get an external for it because that is a known issue as far as the Xbox One hard drive and this
    game.

    Hi there,

Make sure you are using a HDD that is usb 3.0 anything less is only suitable for media use, not game use.
