Issue with the d-pad

I'm having an issue with the d-pad on my controller. More specifically, the right button. Quite often it doesn't register whenever I press it, and I might have to press it multiple times (maybe 2 or 3 times) before it actually registers. It didn't seem to
do this too often at first but as time went on - maybe over the course of 2 or 3 weeks - it got worse.

What's strange about this is that I actually have two controllers, and both of them are having this same exact issue, and it started to happen to them both around the same exact time. Based on that, I'm not convinced it's because of hardware issues.

But, in the event that it was just a wild coincidence that both of my controllers got the same exact problem around the same time due to hardware issues, I'd just like to know how I can get around it. They're new, didn't come with my Xbox, I bought them
separately. Also, the 90 day warranty is up (Just barely though, needless to say, I got them some time in November). Would my only options be to buy new ones or is there some way I can get them replaced or fixed? I'd even be willing to fix them myself as a
last resort if I knew what was causing the problem.

It may not seem like a major issue but most of the games I play I use the d-pad a lot, so this problem got annoying pretty quick.

360 Pad With Rotational D-Pad

My limited Gears 3 pad just recently broke. Well, the d-pad specifically. Anyone know of anywhere you can pick up the pads with the rotational d-pads? I think the ltd edition MW3 pads have the rotational d-pad, don't they?

 

Will Microsoft ever release drivers for Xbone controller on PC?

360 controller is mostly fine for PC games.

Only issue I have is the d-pad which sucks for fighting games.

Even with driver support, the X1 controller + play and charge kit is over £55 which is too much just for a fixed d-pad.

 

I have found multiple threads in the forums about the same issue. I have two of the 3.5 millimeter connector controllers with the same exact issues. It seems that the D pad works perfectly if you press the directional unnecessarily hard. However, it seems
that pressing it at a normal or what I would consider a normal pressure it fails regularly to register the press. Being that there are multiple threads on this issue I would say this is definitely a production problem with the units.
