    Issue with Stereo Headset


    Any idea why the Microsoft Stereo Headset is NOT working on any of my X1 controllers, but I plug it into anything else and there's no problem? Used the basic headset and it works, but the adapter won't recognize on either controller and I JUST used it 2
    hours ago with no issue. I've tried updating the controllers, resetting the consol, switching controllers, but nothing is working. There's no way it was damaged as I keep it on the controller and have a separate stand for them.

    Stereo Headset adapter...crackling audio

    Same popping issue with my xbox stereo headset. unplugging the headset cord and plugging it back in temporarily fixes it (a few minutes)

    Sorry to hear about the controller issues! Is this issue happening with the Xbox One Stereo Headset that came with the console, or are you using a 3rd part headset with the Stereo Headset Adapter? If you are using a 3rd party headset, what is the brand and
    model of the headset? That will help us a lot! Issue with Stereo Headset :)

    Hi Zathrus,

    We have two of the
    Xbox Stereo Headset     with Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter, and both sets have worked well with no problems for sometime now. And I have used the
    adapter with non-Microsoft headset with no issues. So, given that you say your "3.5 mm cabled headset " works directly connected to the controller, then I regret to say it would seem that the fault lies with the adapter itself and may need to be replace.

    Hi Future,

    Thanks for coming to the forums with your issue. With third party headsets, there may be compatibility issues. As one is evident you are unable to adjust the volume. You could try a

    stereo headset adapter    , this plugs into the controller differently, then the headset will plug into them. The update you are showing is for the controller not the headsets. If they are wireless headsets you will want to get with the manufacturer on how
    to update the firmware of the headset.
