Issue with starting a game.

Hi my uncle is having issues with his xbox one. When he tries to enter a game it says that he needs to sign in or renew his subscription. But he is signed in and he didn't need to have an subscription before, he did have an subscription in 2019 but he canceled, since he does not play as much as he use too. We tried everything to logging out and back in even restarting the router but yet no avail. I am hoping someone can help me with this issue

I hate to say this, but being in IT, have you tried completely powering down the system (pulling the plug)? If that doesn't work, have you tried to reset the system to factory defaults?

Some games require active subscription. However, In your case, your uncle needs to contact our live support to check his account and subscription.

Now It lets me load app games like BF 1943. Still no to disc games.

Hi. Please press and hold the power button on your console for 10 seconds to do a hard reset. Turn the console on and try again.

If that didn't work please navigate to the game under my games and apps and press the menu button and scroll down to saved data and select to delete all locally saved data. Your saved data will sync from the cloud once you open the game again

Firs try Power Cycle your console. Turn off. Unplug from wall all cables, wait 2-5 minutes then plug cables back and turn console on.
