    Issue with new dashboard and media player


    im not sure if anyone else has this issue or reported it, but there is a problem with the new dashboard update and media player where pressing the xbox button on the controller opens the snap menu, but also skips to the next video.

    I also apologize if this is in the wrong forum. There was about 1000 to choose from.

    Issue With Media Player

    I'm having an issue with the media player. I connect my iPod, and the Xbox/media player recognizes it, and I'm able to browse it's contents...except none of my 7000+ songs show up on it. Is there a way around this, or is it an issue that could possibly be
    fixed in a future update?

    Preview Program: Media Player

    Well I've just got the New Dashboard, but it seems the Media Player no longer works now. I will not detect any USB device at all. I was wondering if anyone else is having this issue? Issue with new dashboard and media player :(

    Xbox One will be supporting DLNA on it's media player app with the upcoming October dashboard update, so this should be possible without problems.

    It's already possible to stream media towards the One with the windows media player, but with the next update the One will be able to browse for DLNA servers within the network it's connected to.

    Sorry to hear about the Media Player app issues, I can definitely understand how frustrating that could be. There was a recent service alert that my have caused issues if you were trying to install the Media Player app, but this issue has been resolved.
    If you are experiencing issues with the Media Player losing connection, please go ahead and create a new thread. This way you can receive support specifically tailored to you. In the meantime, try Uninstalling and

    From the Zune software to the Xbox 360 Dashboard Video Player: WMV(Unprotected), Mpeg4, H.264

    From Windows Home Server to the Xbox 360 Dashboard Video Player: WMV(Protected), WMV(Unprotected), AVI

    From Windows Media Center to an Xbox Media Center Extender: WMV(Protected), WMV(Unprotected), MPEG-2

    If you video files are not compatible with you Xbox, you may need to convert using conversion utility like
    Handbrake,
    AppGeeker    , etc., both of them have presets

    to make things easier.

    I am having the exact same issue. Uninstalled Media Player and now it's unavailable... Very frustrating. Why does Xbox One Media Player feel like a huge step back from Xbox 360 Media Player?
