Issue with Minecraft for Windows

I recently purchased 2 copies of the Minecraft Starter Collection for my wife and I so we can play with our 2 boys. After entering the key into the Store on my Win11 pc, I was able to download and install Minecraft for Windows. However, once I loaded the game, it would not log into the Mojang servers with my Microsoft account. I did a search for solutions and did not have any luck getting connected. One solution suggested uninstalling, restarting the pc and then reinstalling the application. After uninstalling and restarting, I went back into the store to my library of games and the "Minecraft for Windows'' was gone. And it wasn't showing after a search in the store. So I downloaded the Minecraft Launcher, which gives you access to several options of Minecraft games, but that app is not showing I own the Minecraft for Windows.

I've gone to my purchases and it shows there, but where it used to have an option to install on my PC, it now only offers an option to install on an Xbox.

Is Windows 11 the issue? My wife had no problems installing it on her Win 10 pc and it is working fine.

I just uninstalled Minecraft for Windows on my laptop to see if it said I did not own it on that also and after doing so, the game was completely removed from my library, what is this? I feel like I have been scammed.

Just a friendly reminder though that there are two Minecraft licenses on Microsoft Store. One is for Windows which includes Windows on the title and the other one is Minecraft which means that it is for Xbox console only.

On your order history, if you're seeing just Minecraft Starter Collection it means that it is for Xbox and you may need to purchase the correct version for you to use and play.

Hello! I don't have much time and I'll just answer simply.

Windows 11 isn't the issue unless you are using a very old GPU or hardware. Make sure that the two copies are bought on different accounts. Also, make sure that you and your wife are using different accounts.

If it still doesn't works, then I would suggest you contacting Mojang/Minecraft's official support, as this might be a problem on their end.
