Issue with Kinetic Sensor

Help Please!!!

I bought my xbox 360 and kinetic brand new. The kinetic sensor is not working!!! There is a code associated with it (C005120B) and it suggests that I unplug my sensor and visit xbox/support. What can I do to correct it? None of my games are working. I
tried plugging it out and plugging back in and nothing is working.

Kinetic heating issue

I have just bought a brand new xbox 360 console and I wonder if it is normal that the kinetic bar heats after several minutes of use. The console itself has a normal temperature and they are both well ventilated and not exposed to sunlight (besides, we're
in winter in south hemisphere....).

Can anyone tell me if this is normal?

Hi! Kinect does expel some heat, but it shouldn't be hot to the touch, just warm.

 

Sorry to hear it. The code could mean that it's not attached properly or securely enough or that it doesn't have enough room to move.

Hello thank you for the tips. I am worried it is broken though. It will not even respond when I try to re-initiate the kinetic initial set up. It just displays the same error message "C005120B." Also it will not respond when I try to do a kinetic tuner.
I tried holding up my kinetic sensor higher so that its at six feet and can sense a larger area and that does not work as well. My kinetic use to move the camera part up and down when did it work properly and had a green light. Now it doesn't even move
at all and just displays a red light. I have also tried plugging it in and out multiple times.

1. Which type of console do you have? (S, E or FAT)

2. Have you previously tried to manually adjust your sensor?

3. Do you have an adapter for the sensor and, if so, is it plugged into a wall socket or power bar?

4. Which USB port is the sensor plugged into?

 

The same error I am facing and i have fat console and i have to tried to manually adjust the sensor, no i do not have adapter for the sensor and sensor plugged into the same port in which it is working previously.

 

Puma, for future reference it would be better to create your own thread about your issue. However, thanks for posting the info.

Your issue is that you are using the FAT console with the sensor. When attached to an older FAT console the sensor requires an adapter that is plugged into a wall socket to provide the extra power required. Without it the sensor will not function properly
and could overtax the console causing it to die.
