    Issue With Headset On Xbox One


    Hi,

    My son has a child account and is the main user on his Xbox One.

    However, his headset broke and we got a new one and it isn't working on the Xbox. It is definately not the headset or the controller as we have tried another new set which works on my other sons Switch, and they work, and he has tried all 3 or 4 controllers.

    His account is fine as this has worked before and he is allowed to communicate with others in the privacy settings.

    So the controllers and headsets are fine, but there is some setting or setup on the Xbox which stops sound and the mic working. The only thing I thought about was that he was using a power pack instead of new batteries in the controller.

    Any ideas?

    I recommend to take a look at the following articles:


    If the issue persists, try the Microsoft Headset Adapter to help make the 3rd party headset compatible with the Xbox One. Currently our team is working on a fix to help align 3rd party headsets.

    Third party companies produce headsets for Xbox one if the headset is a third party product you would have to contact that company for warranty issues. Only if the headset is an actual xbox produced item would it be an xbox issue.

    If the problem persists:

    • Try your Headset with another device, such as a laptop, to see if the headset is working.
    • Try using a Headset Adapter for compatibility issues.
    • Try your Headset on another controller, if you can. If the headset works on the second controller, try
      updating the first controlleragain.
