Issue with getting sound from BOTH sides on my headset.

Sounds like an issue with the headset directly then.

I’ve tried my regular headset and my ear buds both make the sound

The sound coming through my headset only come from one ear muff, and it does it to both of my headsets (one is brand new) and both of my controllers.

Please, try this headset with any other devices, like smartphone or PC, because if you have this issue with 2 different controller, maybe is the headset (or the jack connector) broken.

Apparently both the XO4 and XO7 are both tuned for stereo and surround sound. But it seems that it's Microsoft who are currently restricting surround sound.

These headsets get the game sound by just connecting to the headset adapter and the controller. No connection to the console is needed. These headsets will accept whatever signal is sent to them from the controller, at the moment, Microsoft is limiting that
to just stereo. If Microsoft update to send surround sound, then these headsets are ready for that.

Hopefully that makes sense

Ok, I put the USB cable into the an USB power source and the sound is reproduced only on the left side, as always.

How that can be possible? I'm testing the headset now on my computer again and it works fine, it reproduces the sound in both headphones.

Thanks for reaching out to us here on the forums with this situation. I understand you have an Xbox One S headset you're having issues with. Is this an Xbox One Chat Headset with one Earpiece and microphone on one side? Or the Xbox One Stereo headset that
has both headphone cups? From the sounds of it I would recommend you try the headsets on a different controller just to see if it could be the 3.5 mm port itself. Give it a try and let us know with a reply how it goes.
