Issue with Chat Adapter Xbox One

I have a pair of brand new Astro a40s I updated the controller plugged my headset in and no chat comes in. I can't hear anyone and no one can hear me. On the party screen it show the green circle next to my name moves when I talk, but again no one can
hear me and I cannot hear anyone. Very frustrating.

Party Chat cannot hear audio

First, the reason I posted this under Xbox One console is because I swapped my accessories with my son's and they work on his xbox one and his accessories didn't work on mine. so the issue is not chat adapter, controller or headset

Xbox one original controller, stereo headset adapter and headset and I can hear in game chat but as soon as I connect to party chat, they can hear me but I cannot hear them. I tried the original headset that comes with the xbox one and it worked so I figured
it was the stereo adapter. so I purchased a new stereo adapter and have the same issue. so I purchased a new controller with 3.5mm jack. I have the same issue. but if I use my headset connected to the 3.5mm jack on the new controller party chat works fine,
but doesn't work connected to stereo adapter (and I tried 2) So I thought I would try on my sons xbox one (we have 2 xbox ones in the house) so we swapped headsets , controllers and stereo adapters and I had the same problem on my xbox one. whereas his was
working fine (and he was using my controller, headset and adapter) So it would seem to be an issue with my console, that is the only hardware difference. any ideas?

 

This is the same exact issue I have. I'm using the Steelseries h wireless. I was wondering if my adapter was broken but it looks like another wonderful product released by Microsoft
