Issue with blu-ray app and external audio decoding

    Good morning.

I am very happy that Microsoft added external audio decoding to Xbox One blu-ray app, but I'm dealing with an issue while decoding some blu-rays' audio tracks.

Playing the Italian audio track of some titles (i.e. The Hobbit Chapter 3, Avengers: Age of Ultron, etc.), I receive an error message 0x91d7000e, saying that my receiver is not able to decode the audio tracks.

I own a Harman Kardon AVR 161s and everything is connected using HDMI.

What should I do? Do I need any update?

    Thanks.

    Francesco

Xbox one bluRay audio problems. Help needed.

I've been having issues with my audio when playing blu ray's on the xbox one. It doesn't matter what disc I use or what audio source. No audio will play through my headset directly from the controller, or hooked up to my 4k tv. This all started several months ago when it would freeze and the audio will go out of sync with the picture. Netflix, vudu, and games are not affected. My asus montiors also supports hdmi sound and they dont work when the blu ray movie plays.
I just spent an hour with Xbox support and nothing they suggest had any effect on the issue. My xbox, unfortunately, is out of warranty.

    Things i've tried:
Uninstalling and reinstalling the blu ray app.
    switching the audio settings.
installing the app on both my internal and external.
using fiber optic sound cable through my mix amp.

    The behavior is the same.

Could this be an issue with the blu ray player, a combination between the App and the device, or the App just being the worst app ever created on this planet?

  3. Audio out of sync with Blu-ray app on One S

Just got a new One S with the intention of using it for all of my media including Blu-ray and UHD Blu-ray. Unfortunately the Blu-ray app does not properly synchronize the audio with the video. It's a good quarter second off, which makes my discs unwatchable.
This is limited to just the Blu-ray app, audio is fine everywhere else on the system. Uninstalling, reinstalling and restarting doesn't help. This happens with every possible combination of audio and video settings (including 24hz on and off). Is this a known
issue? Is anything being done to fix the app? Is this specific to the S because of the UHD Blu-ray support? Thanks.

Bitstream audio lag on Xbox One X (but not for blu-rays)

I’m going through this on the Sonos support forum now. While I was running a couple of checks, I realised that I had it a little bit wrong here:

With bitstream, there is no audio lag when playing blu-rays and I do NOT tell the Xbox to allow the receiver to decode the audio.

There is audio lag when playing games with this setup.

If I tell the Xbox to allow the receiver to decode blu-ray audio and the audio is being output through HDMI, the audio plays but the blu-ray picture freezes. I don’t believe this is an issue with the tv or Sonos because i can still move through the pop-up
menus with the picture frozen in the background and the sound playing.

If I disable the HDMI audio and use the Xbox’s optical output directly, it works as per the previous (blu-rays fine, games lagging).

    Dolby atmos not working

Do you have a Dolby Atmos compatible receiver, sound bar, or speaker system? If you do, have you changed the settings within 'Disc & Blu-ray settings' on your Xbox One to enable 'Let my receiver decode audio'? Currently Dolby Atmos is only supported within
the Blu-ray app for Dolby Atmos compatible Blu-Ray movies.

    Keep us posted!

Try enabling "let my receiver decode audio" in the settings -> blu ray page on console. Worked for me, hopefully you too.

    Dolby Atmos

    Hi Bumper,

If you’re an Xbox Preview member, here are some helpful tips on how to enable
    Dolby Atmos Sound
    :

    1. Ensure your console is connected via HDMI to a device that supports decoding of Blu-ray audio formats.
    2. Make sure you have the latest Blu-ray player by checking the “Updates” tab under “My Games & Apps.”
    3. Enable “Let my receiver decode audio (beta)” under the “Disc & Blu-ray” settings page.
    4. Insert your favorite DVD or Blu-ray disc.
    5. Kick back and enjoy the highest quality audio from your movies and TV shows.
