    Issue Using ASUS TUF Gaming VG27WQ1B Monitor with Xbox Series X


    Hi,

    I purchased a Series X a few months ago along with the monitor listed above, and have had several issues I haven't resolved yet. For one, I get really bad screen tearing. Nothing seems to help except resetting the console, sometimes several attempts are needed. I'm also unable to use 120hz 1440p on the Series X although my monitor should support it. One last issue I'm having is that to prevent screen tear I was going to try to enable variable refresh rate on my Series X, however, it's greyed out and won't let me turn it on. I've spoke to several people about this and the only answer I've gotten is that it's a Xbox related issue and will hopefully be patched soon. Can anyone confirm if this is true or is there something I'm doing wrong?

    I think I messed up

    The TUF Gaming VG27AQ 27-inch monitor is one of the impressive builds from the ASUS line-up. It has a native refresh rate of 144Hz and a maximum refresh rate of 165Hz. The device is powered by FreeSync and is G-Sync (NVIDIA Certified) compatible. The device offers a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1440 and offers wider viewing angles.

    even in the manual it stated adaptive sync which is usually both, the reason they are showing with gsync is that its on the nvidia approved list, but apparently it has all.

    Activating 4k on 1440p monitor damages the monitor?

    I'm wondering the same thing. I bought yesterday the asus VG27WQ1B. It's a 1440p 165hz curved monitor. My series x sees it as a 4k 60, 1440p 120, 1440p 60, 1080p 120 and 1080p 60 capable. Screen. If I select 4k and open the monitor osd, it shows 2160p 60. Even if I go to YouTube and open stats for nerds, the viewport shows 2160p. If I select 1440p 120 (the reason I bought it in the first place) and I go to calibrate hdr in the Xbox settings, the display automatically changes to 2160p 60 hdr on.

    Definitely don't get no signal and like you said, "you wouldn't be able to activate a mode that your monitor doesn't support"

    Did I accidentally just bought a monitor that has best of both worlds?
