Issue installing Call of Duty error code 0x87e0000f

Hi,

Currently I’m having an issue with call of duty, on the 01/05/25 I started up my Xbox and saw that there was an update. Upon trying to start this update for call of duty I got an error message advising that the game needed to be uninstalled and then reinstalled which I did so. Then when I attempted to reinstall the game I now get a constant error message that pops up saying ‘wait a while, then resume installing’ with the error code 0x87e0000f. I have looked this up and tried all the suggested solutions, restarting Xbox, trying to install the games on a different account, hard restarting the Xbox, factory resetting the Xbox none of which have worked and I have tried these everyday for the last 5 days. I have attempted to install other games to see if it was an issue with downloading all games but installing other games does work so it seems to be an issue specifically with call of duty. Does anyone know how to fix this, it is as if the game had corrupted on my Xbox and now won’t let me reinstall.

Hi, JustTreeLife! I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble installing the game on your Xbox console. No worries, I'm happy to assist you with this today.

Kindly try to do these steps and check if it will fix the issue.

If you have an external storage connected to the console, make sure to remove it first and proceed to the next steps.

Go to Settings and select General > Network settings > Advanced settings > QoS tagging settings

Enable both the DSCP and WMM tagging

Reboot the console

Then press and hold the Power button on the front of your Xbox until the console turns off.

Unplug everything from the back of your Xbox.

Wait 3 minutes, and then plug the power cord and HDMI back in.

Then, please check if that fixes the issue.

Yeah i bought the game yesterday and i get stuck at 97.3% and it keeps saying installation stopped. Sometimes i do get the error code 0x87e0000f. However tried ALL of the troubleshooting for installation stopped stuff and for this error code to no avail.
i can install any other game, just having this problem with The Division 2.

Hello Dave,

Thanks for coming to the forums. We recommend to first try the troubleshooting given for the error code specifically

0x87e0000f. If this doesn't work, you could try and install the game offline. This will install just the game without the update. Once it is installed then go back online and get the update.
Before going offline uninstall the game completely then power cycle the console once back on then set go offline.
To do this, go to settings>general>network settings>go offline.

You get the "Oops.not sure what happened here. Please try again later." when you try and install the multiplayer pack from within the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2019 game. This is the error I was getting. If you close the window you will see the dreaded PILUM error code!

So as per my post, you need to navigate to the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2019 game in the Xbox game store, choose the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare - Digital S..." edition and then scroll down to the "In This Bundle" portion.

Then choose the multiplayer pack for Call of Duty Modern Warfare and install that.

The reason for the error is because Call of Duty Warzone versions have been updated, but the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2019 game multiplayer included version link has not, hence the error you get.
