  1. Is Xbox Series S and Series X same software format?

I'm having a lot of confusion trying to figure out whether to get a series s or Series S because of all these things combined:

    1. My game playing monitor is a 720p CRT VGA monitor. It feels like getting a Series X is a waste of power that cannot be utilized.

    2. I have a separate 3D monitor for 3d blu rays. And the Xbox One S I currently have is a very capable machine that could do simultaneous 3Dvideo in Blu-ray as well as 3D audio in either Dolby Atmos headphone app dtsx headphone app or Windows Sonic lpcm headphone app.

    3. And the nickel and dime issue of about seven video games they are compatible with the One Kinect. I know there is a Kinect adapter that'll let you hook it up to a USB port on an Xbox One S or One X. And I do have the official Microsoft version of that. If these are USB 4 ports on the series X and Series S then shouldn't it work backwardly on USB 3.0 I have enough bandwidth to support the connect adapter for Xbox One S and One X?

It seems like I'm one of the few consumers who's like stuck in the middle between a Series S and a Series X. No matter what I do I can't completely replace the One S with the series X. If I keep the 1s and buy a series s then the only thing I can't do are discs on the Xbox Series X, which I'll admit have become kind of more worthless, thanks to optical discs containing only a 4 MB key to tell the server to download the whole game so getting the disc avoids the whole point of getting discs.

Except when it comes to local library. They have Xbox series games for rent for free. The problem is if I have a Walter Peck (discless) Xbox Series S the discs will be inaccessible.

There is really no easy answer.

One question that you can answer that will make it easier is whether or not the series s and the series X are considered the same software format meaning they play all the same games? If the answer is yes then I could skip having to have an optical disc drive knowing that I'll never be overpowered out of a game . Then literally the only thing that describe would be good for is the library.

    3.0 2Tb Seagate HDD comparability

    Hi,

Your drive will work the same on Series X as it does on Xbox One and you won't need to format it.

However, Series X games or Xbox One games with Series X enhancements will not run from that drive and will either need to be installed internally or to an external SSD designed for Series X/S.

Your hard drive will be too slow for Series X games. They can be stored there, but not run from there.

    Can't play goat simulator 3???

It actually would. There's an Xbox One, One S, and One X that are all in the same family. Then there is the Series S and Series X that are in a completely different family of consoles.

An Xbox One X is not the same as a Series X. The game will not work on an One X.

Can't download Starfield for Xbox one serie X

I have the Xbox one X project Scorpio, I was told that the game can be downloaded in any serie X or serie S (included mine), thanks for the help!!
Game can only be downloaded on a Series S and Series X, but not an Xbox One X. Xbox One X is not the same as a Series X.

Other than that, maybe next generation they should consider some kind of harware bc approach instead of the current software emulation...
    Hi.

This is already happening. The Series X|S is the same hardware architecture as the Xbox One. Which is why all Xbox One games work on the latest Series hardware. No software emulation.
