an SKU is simply an identifier given to identify a product within a company, there is no requirement to have an SKU on a product. How retailers use an SKU is upto them.

(many retailers will also have their own SKU for a product, as two companies can have the same SKU)

sales information from any retailers isn't connected to manufacturers in any industry.

I personally had the privalige of having xbox support on the line at wallyworld, when, not 1, but 3 XBL Gold cards failed.

Support gave me the usual. 'we can't do anything....' - So I handed WM manager the phone who then told XB support.

"The failure is on your end. When we scan the card for sale, your system then reconizes it as sold, and is supposed to activate it on the spot. Since you failed, we will refund the customer and return these cards to you for prompt reinburshment. Thank you."

I was shocked, but I did learn how regesters work. They aren't 'connected' for nothing eh? No, shelf space is limited, and those SKU#'s aren't there for nothing, neither are they WM's SKU's, but rather MS/Sony/Other.

But you go on trying to argue otherwise, as I am sure your programming will feel offended and will thus search out other thoughts with which to defend your premise.
