Is Xbox One Useless for Me?

I just finished reading and watching videos that proves what MS was doing. Just google xbox drm and have a good read.

Seems MS wanted to make the xbox more like Steam, but forgot that bc of Steams policies, hardely anyone games via PC anymore. Which is why Online gaming helped to push console sales through the roof since 2004.

Sony never lost sight of that, but MS did.

Here is where a Logical Fallacy known as a Straw-man is invoked. If person A makes a Statement in regards to what person B wanted as a fictitious statement (intentional or not and which it must be fictitious until person B states
their position) and then person A begins to tear down the statement they created saying it was person B's position, that is a Straw-man.

To put this in other words, claims by others cannot by default represent a claim or lack of by someone else. That person, person Microsoft in this case needs to state their case. Microsoft never did and probably never will in regards to the Launch Policies
of the Xbox One. Google it, is not a sufficient reply to justify a position.

Didn't MS, along with some devs want it so that when YOU boght a game, that you couldn't sell/lend/rent without their express permission? And permission ment paying them a fee for something you already owned?

Sorry, but it's true. No matter what corporate may say, or lobby gobernment to regulate. In a free society, when you buy something. You then own it.

If perchance it bares fruit. You, the customer then owns the fruit as well.

So which one of those link definitively states MS's position?

Do you really think you own the music you buy? or the internet you use? or domain names? etc etc.

If it wasn't MS possition, then why axe public face #1 and put Phil Spencer in his place? Who BTW, is falsely accredited in having. "Turned things around." When in reality, it was public outcry and MS bottom line that FORCED changes in DRM and other policies.

You people do under understand, that CEO's/Other public faces will get the Axe when corporates backside is on the line right?

The "axe" part is speculation but I believe justified in this case. Easy, the whole message was delivered so poorly that it cost MS billions. That's not rocket science to say fire that guy.

 

I believe in a free society, not a corporate dictated society. So yes, if I buy a music disc and a Boombox to play it on... It' mine, and I'll listen to it when/wherever I like. Even pass it on for my family/friends to enjoy.

MS when asked. "How many consoles did you sell?" Replied... "We shipped...."

Thus any 'speculation' whether justified or no. Will be seen as truthful until MS itself comes clean. But they often won't, which is why one agency said of MS. "They would rather pay fines, than come clean with any information we request."

 

thats doesn't mean you own it, thats means your allowed to listen to it.

If you buy a car put your own wheel designs on it and resell your fine. Try creating your own words and back it with another songs music and reselling it and you will find very quickly you don't own it.

I don't disagree that public outcry shaped MS policies for xbox one, but what I don't agree with is there were necessarily needed the changes that were made, because I want to know all the facts and you simply can't find them.

 

How would MS know how many retail units are sold, without asking every retailers for the sales information?

So you could argue MS offering shipped information is offering accurate information, instead of speculation. However they don't have to offer any information at all.

 

Lol, no-one 'allowed' me to do anything. INeither myself, nor my possections. That includes any music I purchase. Is the property of the State, nor the publishing house who sold it to the retailer I in turn purchased it from.
