Is Xbox one even worth it?

Well i had the ps4 for three months since early december and had alot of time to play the different games on it. I now have gone back to xbox with the xboxone only because i couldnt afford to buy the xboxone without trading the ps4 in.

Yes games may run at 1080p more on the PS4 but the biggest example of a game that runs at this res but judders and has framedrops in singleplayer alot and in multiplayer was call of duty ghosts.

My personal choice is id rather they cap games at 30fps and make the framerate consistant rather than run it at a higher res @60fps which then gives you irritating framedrops all the time.

 

Exact opposite for me Lofty, besides the cumbersome invite system PSN outperforms Live in pretty much every aspect. I'm not a huge MP/Co-op player but the games I do play fare much better on PSN, Ninja Gaiden co-op for example is a far better experience on
there and as for downloading content it blows Live away, I often grab 10 to 20 gig files in half the time it takes to download 5 gig files on here. Oh and cross platform party chat is pure win!

 

Don't bother with the XB1 its dreadful...

If you want a next gen console go for the PS4

I've never had any real issues downloading big files from either XBL or PSN, I can't say I've ever compared download times but I know both are pretty quick but I'm lucky that I have a decent broadband speed.

I've often wondered if I or BT have some sort of conflict with PSN as even going back to the PS3 I always seemed to get more issues than most when online with Sony, whether it be joining games, lag, disconnects etc and like you mentioned, the invite system
is well, not that great.

So for me when it comes to co-op/MP titles or any game that involves say comparing times/scores with your friends online, I will always stick with Xbox/Microsoft, for me personally it's where I've always had ( not perfect by any means ) the most "stable"
experience.

 

Neither console is worth it at the moment.

That may change when something half decent comes out, possibly Watch Dogs, though given the amount of delays I doubt it. Elder Scrolls Online is, according to GAME, a waste of time on the 1 because it also requires a Live subscription as well as it's own
MMO fee (you don't need to subscribe to PSN on the 4).

PS4 is an infinitely superior machine. It doesn't matter how amazing xb1 developers become, the console is slightly limited compared to the ps4 - and the customer is forced to buy a rubbish peripheral solely intended to appeal to lazy americans who think
reaching 2' over to physically switch their machines (whichy they leave ins tandby 24/7 like everything else) on.

Unfortunately for the ps4, it also has no games worth a damn. Infamous for £52? You'll complete it in a week! What's the point!

Sorry that doesn't quite make sense to me, you say ...

Then say just after ..

"Neither console is worth it" ... So which one do you have ( maybe both ) what don't you like about it/them? to say neither is worth it.

Everyone is different. I was lucky to play both for quite a while, in the end I got rid of the PS4 and stuck with the XB1. Others I know prefer the PS4, I know one person that got rid of both and went back to PC, quite a few I know are sticking with both,
as I said, everyone is different.

As for this "Kinect being forced" ... Anyone who decides to buy an Xbox One had a choice, no-one was forced.

 

More than worth it for in my opinion, with great exclusives like dead rising 3, forza 5 and ryse it was always going to be my first choice, recently ive been really enjoying plants vs zombies which looks impressive and is a nice change of pace

 

I got to say it's been more than worth it to me, sure a few niggles along the way but like with any console, they are never 100% perfect but do get better with time.

Forza 5, best racing game I've ever played, into triple figures now playtime.

Dead Rising 3. Puts the fun back into gaming. Me and Mr Codger funnily enough started another co-op play through today.

Ryse. Campaign is a little short but played through twice with almost 60 hours clocked so far in the co-op arena mode.

Plants Vs Zombies. Being honest as much as I love Titanfall I probably enjoy this just a little more. Never fails to put a smile on my face when playing.

Titanfall. Like Plants Vs Zombies, finally a couple of MP games that do feel slightly different from all the other MP games out there.

Without even mentioning Peggle 2, a good selection of multiplatform titles, Kinect ( which I do personally like ) also I said earlier, sure we all have different experiences good or bad but for me Xbox LIVE is the place to be for MP, co-op gaming.

Great looking games on the way, exclusive and multiplatform so for me it's been more than worth it.

 

Xo is not worth it top me, mostly as i own and enjoy the other console, plus i know i will get a XO one day so theres no rush.

Its going to be down to personal opinion at the end of the day. Look at the games available/due for release and make the decision. I knew investing in a next gen console would be worth it as alot of people i play with have aswell. If most people you play
with have not upgraded then theres not much point. Then you get people who have to have the latest thing so if this is you then get one. At the end of the day nobody is guna be able to make that decision for you.

 

It seems most people think the Xbone is NOT worth it, Figures released today show the Playstation 4 has now sold 7 million consoles. An that the Playstation 4 is now outselling the Xbone 7to1 in Europe maybe 8to1 in the UK......

 

My advice would be to follow your own instincts and do some research. If you really want to commit to spending hundreds of pounds then you will want to know exactly what you are getting. Both consoles are great. Doesn't matter which one is selling more and
which one is selling less, sales shouldn't mean anything to consumers so long as the product itself is worth the cost of the unit you are buying My opinion ^
