However, neither the Vault Edition nor the Cross-Gen Bundle of Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® II is included with Xbox Game Pass. Therefore, you do not need an XGP membership.

Cod mw warzone is the battle royale online only version of the game. Unfortunately, if you wish to play the campaign you will need to purchase the whole version of the game . Additionally, xbox live is mandate in order to play the warzone since its online
pvp mode of the game

You shouldn't let modders stop you from enjoying Xbox Live, there are plenty other good online games other than COD MW 1.

Ive only noticed it in COD MW, but thats the only game i play online. So not sure.
