    Is winning the Xbox S from the sweepstakes worth it?


    I've gotten an xbox wishlist on my account, I was thinking of getting the Xbox S so I could play the games I want. I heard you have to pay taxes for something expensive. I mean the xbox s is worth 299.99.

    Should I bother with the sweepstakes or save up for the xbox s?

    Legally you must pay taxes, or at least declare, pretty much anything that comes into your possession

    Given that taxes on it would likely be under $20, not seeing the downside :)

    It would still be worth it to enter. Taxes on something that small wouldn't be much. Generally only sweepstakes prizes worth $600 or more need to be reported I believe.

    The odds depend on how many people enter the sweepstakes. So its probably about the same as winning the lottery but still worth a shot!
