Is windows 10 breaking my controller?

So something weird is going on with my controller. I encountered a problem with my Xbox one wireless controller. I asked this community forum and asked the retailer to replace it. They did and the same problem happened. So I asked again on the forums. I
contacted MS support and I gave my controller to them. I got it back and got the same issue. So I contacted MS support again. After that call I found out something very strange. What happened was that I opened up Control panel and looked at the controller
settings. There is a test program there and it showed that the controller works perfectly. No problem at all. When I try it in game or using the Xbox accessories app it shows the controller is broken. Here is a video about my the problem:*Removed*

My question is basically if this is Windows 10 or something else.

Note: I have tried it on multiple computers and the same problem exists on all of them.

Small update. I have contacted MS support again and they will send me a replacement. Now we just hope it was the controller. I will post an update after i have gotten the item.

Feel free to post more awnsers if you think you know something related to this question.

You definitely want to plug it in via Micro usb and make sure the controller is up to date. Same with your Windows.

To update your controller firmware:

Connect a controller to your Xbox One with a USB cable. Keep any headsets connected to the controller.
Connect to Xbox Live.
Press the Menu
Go to Settings > Devices & accessories. Select the controller.
- If you have multiple controllers attached, you can select Buzz – which will cause the selected controller to vibrate.
Then select Update to download the new firmware to the controller attached via the USB cable, and the screen will show the Updating controller … progress screen
When you see the Controller updated screen, press ‘B’ to go back to the Devices & accessories main page

Hey brad,

I have searched with another query (Xbox One wireless controller unity problem) and found out that some weird stuff with unity and the Xbox controller. Then I changed the default driver which only caused more issues, but it did help me find a setting in
the game. That setting solved the whole issue. I would like to thank everyone for helping me with my issue and i can now finally say that it is finished.

So conclusion:

The Xbox One wireless controller is a lot different from the previous controllers. This caused the game to misinterperate my controller commands. The problem here lies in the Unity engine and can be solved if the developers designed a solution in the game.
This issue is not due to a fault of the controller but the Unity engine.
