Is titanfall the new modern warfare.

Now tzar that's what I'm talking about. A bit of imagination. Game companies always take the safe route and it gets boring. Admittedly a few take risks but not enough.

Thats why COD 4 is fantasic, and everything else is ok.

Will developers try to jump on the bandwagon, of cause, would far cry be good with dino's of cause.

I liked TF because the back end was very good, everyone is getting caught up in the titans and IMO thats a very small part.

 

A good game is the sum of ALL it's parts.

If a game has bad respawns or matchmaking then it doesn't matter what the engine is like. And if a game has bad AI then it doesn't matter what the graphics look like, etc. etc.

Titanfall is looking amazing because of the sum of all it's parts. Great AI, fast and smooth graphics....hopefully great matchmaking....and a brilliant engine that supports great mech and pilot movement.

(COD on the other hand has an engine that is feeling a bit dated and limiting in it's one-dimensional approach to FPS - I admit that the weapons mechanics are I great and matchmaking is usually pretty spot on....but even if they improve the graphics unless
they tackle the engine the game will get left behind this generation).

 

Did we actually have more modern style shooters or were they just the ones that the Xbox crowd chose to play? We had Halo but we also had Bioshock, F.E.A.R. , Crysis, Darkness 2, Section 8 that were all good or at least decent games that simply didn't have
an active multiplayer ( other than Halo ).

If your a developer looking to make some money you pick the games people are playing so it's as much our fault as theirs.

 

I remember when mw came out and then they world at war I thought, how cool is this. They are going to do a modern one and keep doing ww2. But no such luck. Black ops was next. And the EA tried to do a yearly thing with battlefield and medal of honour. Both
set in modern times. I know there were some great other games as well but I just hope we don't see cod go in the future. And battlefield go in the future. Leave us a bit of diversity.

 

I like TF cause its something new, I wish more company would take a risk and come up with something new.

As long as the games are good and fun to play.. I could care less about themes or era's... what I want is a nex gen Revolutionary / Civil style war FPS.. or a much earlier, say Ryse with a TDM bur not so QTE'ish with period weapons etc... now that would
be good...
