Is this screen tearing? Please help

technically yes wasted frames if higher that 60 on a 60hz screen, but it does reduce latency. you got framedrops in halo mcc which should run on a calculator, if i run that uncapped i hit nearly 260fps on halo 4 with all settings maxed out and over 300fps on halo1 2 and 3.

my pc connected to my monitor and the monitor shows the current fps, but when connecting the xbox that just sits at the set refresh and does not change like the xbox is playing in borderless mode or something.

It could very well be but my monitor has a fps counter (actually the refresh) but I've noticed only two games that actually show dips in fps and that was tannenberg and halo mcc, halo mcc felt exactly the same regardless of dips but tannenberg I could actually feel the frame drops also I did have a pc for a very short time but I was on a 75hz display correct me if im wrong but on a pc if I got higher frames on say a 75 hz or 60hz display they would essentially be wasted frames? Cause before the pc I never experienced over 60fps before so I'm not sure if im going crazy or if there's an actual problem lol

not screen tear, but it is running at a lower framerate so i would put it down to the games, are you playing at 4k, if so then you have it set at 120 but alot of games will be running at 60 still.

No im running on 1440p 120hz chiv 2 is 60 fps i know its a lower fps but just whenever I turn it looks all choppy and stuttery im not exactly sure how else to explain it I can definitely tell the fps differences

it probably runs at 60 but may have some dips, but if you have played games for a while at a higher framerate like i do you get used to it, then 60 feels absolutely terrible. exactly how you describe it.

i went from 144 to 60 the other day and i couldn't do it, felt like everything was stuttering and blurry. went on the xbox one with my son to play a game and oh my lord, 30fps is like a still image haha.
