Is this real or fake?

Given that the domain that email sent from is @microsoft.com, I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the email as "fake" simply because of a minor grammatical error.

You should talk to the Policy Enforcement team to clarify this. You'll find them in this forum section.

Try signing in? seems legit, doesn't ask for your details. Plus maybe not a good idea to show the email which shows your email address in it.

Yes this is real it is just a security Verification Request. I has this last week.

If your still worried I recommenced you to change your passwords and re log in to the console

I'n not sure if it matters if it is real of fake. Bottom line is if you get a suspension or ban you will get the email. If you get one in your email and you never get a suspension then I would say that one would be fake.

As above, definitely fake. Even if someone had reported you, they would never divulge who it was as that would be a breach of Privacy laws in the United States (and probably most other countried with privacy laws).

Accounts don't get erased....if the breach is severe enough to warrant it, they can console ban an account but the account itself would remain active.

Enforcement would never (far as I know anyway) end a message with "We hope you learn your lesson. Goodbye"....a message like that is condescending, not to mention comes across as childish.

At a guess, I'd suspect it is a bored teenager trying to create angst amongst other gamers
