Is this Nazi Germany during the third Reich?

Well no.

You're not allowed to display Nazi symbols in Germany because it's against the law to display Nazi symbols in Germany.

It's not restricted to toys.

It's restricted to Germany.

Not on your toys. Not on your lawn. Not on the side of your house. Not on your skin. Not in your video games.

It's part of their criminal code.

Before his execution at the Nurenberg trials, before he was executed for war crimes and crimes against humanity Hans Frank said "A thousand years shall pass and still Germany's guilt will not have been erased".

It's hard for a modern generation to wrap their heads around this statement but perhaps William L Shirer provides some perspective in his preface to "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich" when he pairs Frank's quote with George Santayana's statement "Those
who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it".

If it's all sounding a little cerebral when it comes to the Swastika in Germany, bringing up this symbol is is even less tasteful and telling David Bowie Death Jokes at his funeral.

Nazi symbols are not considered appropriate for entertainment purposes.

Despite being understandably sensative about their countries actions in the Second World War the country also has very strict censorship laws for violence as well.

The height of the Third Reich was during 1942/3, even then everyone thought Germany was still going strong, then Russia came in pumped the Germans (compressed version).

Then again, if Japan actually took out the US carriers, the repair stations and Hawaii's fuel, along with a few other small, but yet large things, then the US navy would've been crippled by A LOT more than it was. (20 ships sunk right? 15 of em was repaired

That is a joke. The whole thing is plain stupidity. Anti-consumer out the wazooo. Anyone ever heard of the old Nazi Germany? M$ has just resurrected old Nazi Germany.

If there is another Metro game in the future, I would like to see something along the lines of a prequel. A story that shows what events took place that they were forced into the Metro and how the war with Germany (4th Reich) from the 2nd game. And during
this what happened to the US or the rest of Europe? Were they involved? It would be cool to see some kind of a back story to the games.

And no, playing as Nazi Germany in WW2 CoDs isn't a justifiable explanation.
