Is this a new type of scam or something?

I keep getting friend requests from people with 0 gamerscore saying that they met me through Xbox friend finder. Then, they immediately ask my age. Never accepted one but this is a little more than creepy.

Yeah I never actually followed the link, I copied the URL and just pasted part of it in my original post. I had a feeling it was dodgy, you guys pretty much confirmed it.

I got the same email. You can bet it is a scam, because whenever Xbox Live sends communications to a member, they use your actual name and/or your gamer tag in the email because they have that knowledge. This email does not have either. Whoever sent it is
trying to spoof you into giving them your account information. That is something you never want to do. Do yourself a favor and delete it.

This is a scammer. I believe it's a bot with automated responses, but I'm not entirely sure.

The best thing you can do right now is just report and block the accounts, so that Xbox's enforcement team can address the issue.

If possible, add a comment to the report, it couldn't hurt.

 

You do realise you risk a suspension using that language even if it was a scammer?

 

Yeah, there seems to be a recent increase in these lately. I've had three people with a 0 gamer score send a friend invite this week, none have messaged me. The first two I tried messaging to see why they were sending me an invite, no response so now I'm
just blocking them. I know of at least three other friends that have been getting these, two of whom have had the "how old are you?" line with at least one of their 0 game score scammers.
