Is there something wrong with the long-form recording option in my Xbox One X? Unable to...

Thanks for your reply. I suspect there’s probably something to the idea that there’s a bottleneck causing the recording to end. I have since tried a USB 3 flash drive and results are improved, though not consistent. When I do a restart of the Xbox and
put the freshly formatted flash drive in and set it as the capture location, then fire up the game and start recording, it seems to let me record for up to the full hour without stoppage. Once I’ve exited the game and review footage in the media player, then
it seems to become inconsistent when I try to record again though overall still less likely to occur. I may try a decent SSD with good write speeds to get it even more reliable. It’s good to know there’s someone out there recording at 4K consistently, so I
appreciate the reply.

Do you not have a chance of maybe streaming to a PC? i know that 4k HDR space requirements when recording are massive and can take up a lot of space.

I've been having this issue for weeks. It randomly stops the recording itself and tells me a little while after, I tried all settings and 1080p did seem to last a little longer however it was still doing it.

Here's the kicker though, we have a second Xbox one x in the house on the same network, I played the same game at the same parts and tried it for 4 hours and the 4k HDR never stopped. So that leads me to think that it's my Xbox that's the issue (I even tried
all 3 usb ports just in case it was a port issue)

I have a very, very fast Samsung ssd. It was 200 bucks i think last year for 1 tb. Same issue with xbox one x. I only capture in 4k hdr. Beyond that its pointless. So now, i don't capture. Xbox series x..... come on down!
