Is there something wrong with the latest Xbox Live update? One game keeps on freezing when I ...

The thing is I bought Borderlands like 2-3 years ago, I got a different Xbox 360 and I just downloaded the game once again; but when I try to launch it, the console freezes/crashes at the very beginning (sometimes at the middle of the Gearbox Software
credit and others at the loading screen of the game, I can't acces the main menu on both cases).

While I was searching for solutions, I found out the clear-cache one... Didn't but did work at the same time. Why? Bc at the beginning of the game, a request to update Xbox Live something pops up: If I accept and download it, the game restarts and
the console freezes; but if I skip it, the game launches normally (as the 10 min restriction begins).

It's kinda funny and annoying because it only happens with that game (I play a lot of GoW series and it all goes smooth) or at least that's the only game I've downloaded recently.

Should I wait for a new update or I have to do something on my console? Btw, I have to turn off and on my console to make it work again after it freezes on the game.

I think something is wrong with my x1

my xbox starting doing this last week. Freezing and nothing responding, not even he controller or power button. Had to pull the plug.... Will have to keep an eye on it

 

There is something wrong with my Xbox

The home button on both of my controllers don't work. I also have been asked for my account password, but I can't enter it because my screen freezes when I try to type.

I tried to play that game to verify and on my console it works fine

 

I checked that guide almost a the beginning of my problem and I tried every solution compatible with my Xbox 360 (you can guess how long I've been trying to solve it before posting this question) but none of them worked.

What confuses me is the fact that the game runs as it should if I don't upgrade anything (apart from the OS), but the 10 min countdown restricts me.

Yeah, I've tried reinstalling the game twice, but it doesn't work. I even set my console to factory settings and nothing solves it. As shown on the second video, the game works if I don't agree to update, but the time restriction blocks me from playing.

Is there anything alse I can do? I've tried all the guides options but none works for me.

 

Awesome thanks for letting us know you've already tried those steps as well. It really does narrow any other possible troubleshooting step we can try. One of them I would like to have you try out is a Rollback on the updates on the console, this will have
you reinstall the latest update on the Xbox 360 so if anything affected the console with the last update it had re-applying it should help this out.

To reinstall the latest Xbox 360 update, follow these steps:

1. Clear the system cache. To do this, see the "Clear the system cache" section above.
   
2. Roll back and then reinstall system updates. To do this:
   1. Press the Guide button
      on your controller.
   2. Go to settings and select System.
   3. Select Storage.
   4. Enter the following button sequence: X, LB, RB, X, LB, RB, X.
      
   5. Select the option to roll back all system updates that are installed. The console will restart automatically and then download the updates again

Give it a shot and let us know how it goes.

 

Thank you, I hadn't try the Rollback, but unfortunately it didn't solve my problem, the game still keeps on freezing when launching.

Thank you for reaching out. I see you have tried quite a bit of troubleshooting both on your own as well as steps provided by other mods and ambassadors. If you haven't already, I want you to try deleting all the updates for the game and redownload them
all at once. If the game continues to freeze, you might have to submit a ticket with

Gearbox Software support.

 

I tried one more time updating the game, but didn't work out.

Try reinstall the game and try clearing cache. Put
your finger on the start button of the console for 10 seconds until it goes out.
Then wait another 30 and turn it on again.
After trying this, reinstall the game.
It may work for you .

In fact, I installed the game three times: the first one I found the problem, the second one was after deleting the game and re-installing without turning off my console, and the third one was the way you told me (I waited 5 min instead of 30 sec)
