Is there something wrong with me?

I've played way too many shooters. One weekend I said screw it and played through Tomb Raider. I had a feeling of completion I have not felt for awhile. Actually finish a game with a good story. I felt refreshed. Right now my rut is my meds need adjusted.
Too depressed anymore but on the bright side they finally found a painkiller that works good on me. Sorry for rambling....

Fries are nice, but fries every night are not...

 

I'm in the same boat OP. I'm sick of FPS at the moment and find them very stale. I don't know when I will get back into them, but I'm more than happy with my RPG's lately, even a little racing.

MR cod... I guess you have not played Destiny yet. It's a clone... Much like Halo and COD with a little Borderlands Not a big deal.

 

This is why I always liked the Left 4 Dead series and am really looking forward to EVOLVE. These games take teamwork, its not just shoot anything that moves, run away, shoot anything that moves.

 

Thank you for this thread. I've been seriously wondering the same thing, I feel like I'm going crazy but multiplayer matchmaking games like halo cod titanfall battlefield and now it seems like destiny could be added to that list just make me very annoyed.
I can't stand playing them anymore. I've never been good at that type of video game and it seems like more and more games are adding that sort of aspect to their game. I am drawn to the stories and adventure of the games world not running in circles shooting
and dieing. I really think I will like destiny but I can't get over that the crucible matchmaking drives some rewards because I think it influences you to play the matchmaking and I could careless about it because I get that same irritated feeling. I like
the Co op aspect of story mode but I like to take my time with good well designed games and explore every inch of the map or look for collectibles. Even though I used to play halo multiplayer I like halo more for the campaign and overall story, I like playing
against the ai because I feel like I can use strategy opposed to having to be extremely fast and lucky to get kills in multiplayer. It just seems like the trend of gaming is multiplayer matchmaking and it's honestly is frustrating to me.

 

I notice there is one FPS you haven`t played.It`s a few years old now but still a good one, so give Red Dead Redemption a try, not your usual FPS and a great story too.

 

Red dead is NOT a FPS.... 3rd person maybe The point was to move away from FPS games, So you reccomend one?????

Why not reccomend Gears Of War or Max Payne 3----

 

Wow. I honestly didnt think this would get past the first page. Glad to know I'm not alone. I'm all for teamwork in a game. Would love to have a game where you could coordinate a full party in tactical strikes. Where one team defends and the other must scout
defenses and formulate an attack strategy based on any possible weakness observed. There could be spies or even double agents. Voice chat could work with character proximity. Radio comms through headset and proximity communication through tv speakers with
the use of kinect. This way you can mute you comm radio and have a private chat with the person next to you onscreen. More multiplayer campaignes would be a good thing. And couch co-op

 

Check out MOBA's like League of Legends, Defense of the Allstars, or if you're really brave Guardians of Middle Earth on the 360. (Just don't buy the DLC) LoL & DotA are both PC exclusives.

 

I burned myself out playing Counterstrike on the computer for many years. Now I still try shooters on the console but usually get tired of the game within a month or so. However, I will shelf it for 2 or 3 months then pull it back out for 2 weeks or so
and the cycle repeats.

 

Maybe I was a little basic in my description of RDR, some of the shooting parts are FPS, but most of the game is in 3rd person and has more of an RPG feel to it. Lets face it, there`s not many games which involve herding cattle.

Also as previously mentioned, fpr something else different give Deus Ex Human Revolution a try as you can play through without firing a shot, (apart from the boss levels, unless you have the directors cut), a game I thoroughly enjoyed.

 

I was impressed with destiny. I didn't know it was basically an MMOFPS. Something not successfully done yet (that I can think of). The only thing that really felt like borderlands was seeing the damage numbers fly up. I give it high props. Had me hooked.

 

I think the fps is why I am so bored with Xbox One right now, I have literally bought every game that has come out so far and I am getting bored really quick because they are all along the lines of a fps. I look at my games library right now, I have battlefied,
cod, titanfall, and I traded wolfenstein, but it is basically a shooter and battlefield and cod I played to death on Xbox 360 when they first came out. I understand the other RPGs will take longer to develop for Xbone but I can no longer take months to play
these fps games, I get bored after chasing stats that I can't achieve after a couple weeks, with games like titanfall which have eliminated the campaign, it becomes even harder to get hooked at these games. I think I am also still on a Skyrim high. I spent
endless hours playing Skyrim and for the first time enjoyed a video game the way you are supposed to, now my expectations are so high even for fps games that I am getting very easily let down, and not to mention I'm trying to find a next gen game that can
compete with a game like Skyrim.
