Is there something wrong with me?

OK I fully expect to get some jokes but I find I lose interest in first person shooters rather quickly. After I complete a campaign I find multiplayer doesn't drive me to keep playing a game. Its not that I don't like to lose cause its a game and there
are winners and losers but after a few matches it all feels the same to me. Run here shoot guy there duck for cover toss grenade and repeat. My first fps was doom on snes, medal of honor front line was the first with the modern controller layout. I loved halo
and the call of duty franchise up to world at war. But everything lately just feels stale. I just got titanfall and am hoping the multiplayer campaign can renew my interest in fps so we'll see. But from the trailers I've seen nothing is really Inspiring me
to pick up destiny. Looking g forward to MCC and H5 simply cause I haven't played H4 yet and I always went back and played through them all before starting the next entry in a series. Especially if the story continues where the last one left off. I'm just
wondering if anyone else feels this way

I'm going to have to disagree on the spawns. These maps are big enough so that we shouldn't spawn in the middle of the action with an enemy... but we do. It's fairly common. BO2 size maps.... sure have to cut them slack about the limited choices. But these
maps are big enough that we shouldn't ever spawn in the open beside an enemy in a 6v6 match. It's not the worst aspect of this game but with large maps there is no reason for it. I've had it happen on Stonehaven!

Play cranked, blitz or kill confirmed. I even go back to squads on occasion because I get bored and frustrated with humans. At least bot teammates won't go 2-26.

 

Nope nothing wrong with you. I played lots of FPS up until a few months ago, and a friend who didnt doesnt understand why I stopped playing Titanfall. Its not that its a bad game, I just got tired of shooting stuff all the time. Every now and then we get
into a rut. You just need to find your way out of it.

 

I'm shocked that more people don't feel the way you do, OP. FPS grew stale for me a few years ago. Unfortunately, with the way gaming is, it's really really difficult to avoid them.

 

I guess I'm more story driven to play a game

 

There are tons of games out there. Also, it depends on what FPS games you are playing. While i like COD and Halo, i'm tired of the modern day FPS that copies Halo and COD. Play stuff like Bulletstorm, Bioshock, Shadow Warrior, FEAR, and others I can't remember.

 

At least as far as shooters go. I feel the need to know why we are fighting. In war what is the cause of the conflict? Just entering a match doesn't tell me anything and that goes across all game types. Capture the flag, death match, etc. If I want to play
a game in the spirit of competition I'll play a sports or driving game.

 

I get sick of shooters easily unless it's really good. I usually only buy 1 a year.

 

Nothing wrong. I quit MP after about 2 months of H4. I haven't played any other MP games since. Good thing, I can use my now small MP gas tank on MCC. I still might not play it for too long. Even single player gets to me. Borderlands 2 bored me to tears.
I often find myself anxious for the end to come when I play games anymore, and not just FPS. WOW used to be my FPS escape though. It wouldn't work as well now.

 

Real Gaming has to be a FPS...... I maybe wrong.

Just ask the players, They will tell you how great they are.....

You're not alone. I lost interest in the FPS multiplayer a long time ago. I agree they have all gotten stale in trying to follow that COD example, even that franchise has gotten boring and over rated. (They even now try to sell you the same maps from
previous games. I already bought it once why would I buy it again??). Not only has that style in which you described gotten old, but in dealing with modders and hackers there is very little left to be excited about. If I do anything with any type of shooter
anymore outside of the campaign (even that has gotten stale and repetitive with most series), it's the survival or Horde style modes. Everything else is just the same ole same ole.

 

I'm getting sick of military shooters where your objective is always to kill someone, blow something up, save someone etc.

I don't think I'll ever get sick of FPS games like Bioshock, Borderlands, Deus Ex, I love first person games like those.

 

I don't think Destiny is the typical COD/Halo. I feel like it is going to be a MMO version of borderlands with bits and pieces of halo and cod sprinkled in. If you were going to give a shooter a chance, I would buy destiny day one.

I've cut back on call of duty, but I still put 10 days into ghosts. I played COD 4 almost daily for the two years it was out. I did the same with waw and mw2. I didn't much care for blops and barely played it (not because I was sick of cod, I just didn't
like feel of the game). I played mw3 a ton, but would take weeks off at a time. I played blops 2 a ton but stopped playing it completely after a few months. I gave up on ghosts after 6 months. I'm gradually heading into the 'hardcore' gamer direction.
My first ten years of gaming was nearly 100% shooter and sports games. I now find myself looking forward to most major non-shooter releases.

 

Yeah I'm the same , got fed up with TitanFall a few weeks back , so I picked up Thief and got stuck into that , also borrowed Zoo Tycoon the other day and ain't put it down since , lol.
