Is there just too much jammed on xbox?

Games have to be installed to the hard drive. The days of running games from an optical format are gone I'm afraid. Put simply, Blu-ray drive tech just isn't fast enough to run games fully or even partly from disc now and won't be in the future either.
You need the disc to prove ownership, It's to prevent piracy.

Games are 60GB + now because of higher resolution textures. You want near photo realistic graphics, you're going to end up with larger game sizes. Game physical data sizes have always been about the graphics and the textures, never the size of the game
world.

The drive capacities available have been about keeping costs down for consumers, and it's really a none issue since you can use external storage anyway. I've got a One X with a 1TB hard drive, an two external drives, a 500GB and a 2TB.

 

This forum is mainly for support, so it will be full of errors. With the 3GB of RAM for the OS on Xbox One/S, it should work fine.

 

I really think they should update the user interface. That would help a lot if they made it more streamlined.

 

I agree. While I have no major issues with the function of my Xbox One (The One X version), MS could take a note of the PlayStation dash.

This may sound like sacrilege on these forums, but as an PS4 owner, the PS4 dash is just, well, better really. It's just so much more quicker, especially the PS Store pages. I wouldn't say the Xbox One dash is slow, it isn't, just that the PS4 does it
more smoothly, it's more streamlined. Plus, the PS4 pro has a proper 4K dash, while, as I understand it, the Xbox One X up-scales it's dash to 4K. Pretty sure they haven't changed this yet.

Only adding more content to the dash without optimising the experience will slow down the machine. Adding more apps to your console won't slow it down. The Xbox One family aren't Windows PC's and should not be compared as such.

 

I'm not sure. There probably is too much going on and it just needs to be optimised for it to work efficiently. Although you would have thought it would have been optimised by now for how long the dashboard has been out. I don't see it as much of an issue
though. As long as the games work fine

 

I think it all user based with errors usually. I run multiple consoles in my house all from xbox ones and xbox one S and a couple xbox one X's and literally have no issues with any. Internet speeds are the biggest issue especially when it comes to updates
and they get corrupt, which causes a lot of issues for people. In my experience most that have update issues are ones that have had issues with the internet speeds and/or service.
