Is there anyway to stay in an xbox 360 party whilst doing things other than playing backwards ...

So since the emulator closes when anything else opens, you can't stay in the party?

Hello there SCARYxBLACKMAN, so long as the 360 emulator is running on your Xbox One you can be in parties, but. to my knowledge, I don't think you can be in an Xbox 360 party once the emulator is closed.

It's not that simple. The updates on here are over 100x the size of the ones we got slapped with on 360. It's ridiculous, and I shouldn't have to spend an entire day downloading some giant *** patch for a game I'm not actually playing with anyone anyway
just to stay in *** party chat with friends who are doing other things.

whilst I sympathise and understand your point, not every playing the game wants to hear others using profanity whilst playing online. It can also be noted that just because a game is rated 18, you will still have people younger than that age playing.

The best thing to do is to be mindful of other players and perhaps restrict banter to party chat with folks you know well.

As long as the game is backwards compatible you should be able to play with your friend even if he is on the Xbox One and you are on the Xbox 360. Unfortunately you would not be able to actually join each other through a party chat being that you are playing
on different platforms. The Xbox One party chat would only work with other Xbox one consoles and same for the Xbox 360.

One thing you can always do to bypass this is to download the Xbox app through your mobile device and start a party through that with your friend through the app.
