Is there anyway I can return an online game for a compatible version?

If a game is released on the xbox one & 360 I highly doubt the 360 version will be made backwards compatible anyway.

That game is backwards compatible so you can play it on the Series X with the 360 disc, but online servers were shut down for the 360 version of the game.

I've just bought this and have only installed it (trying to finish the worst game of my recent purchase so I can return it for being appalling) but what's the advantage to being online anyway?

This is not true the Xbox One can play quite a few Xbox 360 games through backwards compatibility. Please note the console needs to be online to allow it to download the backwards compatible version of the game.
