Is there anyway for Microsoft to reset a gamertag for me?

hey I was wondering if Microsoft could reset a gamertag for me. If so that would be awesome

Getting a GamerTag that's "already in use"?

The tag system is in use on other Microsoft services as well. So even if it isn't being used on the 360, it could be in use elsewhere.

Microsoft reset old gamertags from the original Xbox service years ago, but there is no timetable for when other gamertags are reset. There is also no way to request a gamertag.

 

Microsoft New Policy In Place

We all know, the new policy agreement is inactive gamertags for 5 years are to be reset and released into the battlefield; however, WHEN?

Will Microsoft announce gamertag resets again? Asking not only for myself, but for others that have there eyes on an inactive gamertag.

 

Why don't you just rename yourself or do you mean you want someone else's name no gamertaga are not an on-demand service

Gamertag requests are not an on request item. They are available when they are available.

Resetting a gamertag is also not an option. It only happens when the Enforcement Team gets involved.

 

If the gamertag was inappropriate, the enforcement team would've given a brief suspension and a reset.

And that's something you'd like to avoid, so the only other way is to spend $9.99+ tax changing it.

Thanks for posting1 We're unable to reset Gamertags over the forums, however keep in mind that inactive Gamertags are released every 5 years, but only if they've been inactive. Since these threads can turn into Gamertag request threads, this will be closed.
