    Is there any way to recover an earlier version of a saved game file that seems to be corrupted?


    I have a savegame file of "Mount and blade warbrand" on my xbox that seems to be corrupted, I wonder if there is any way to recover a previous version of it from the cloud.

    Is there any way to backup saved games?

    @tohellnbak - We already have this and (slightly off topic) I do like the way the content protection works for the kids, but I have 11 Grandkids, and the intention with the lego game specifically was for my wife to play it in her spare time and open up all
    the levels and extras, so the kids could "free roam" with any characters they want when they come around. So even with their own accoutn, this objective isnt possible without my wife playing multiple accounts and levelling them all up Is there any way to recover an earlier version of a saved game file that seems to be corrupted? :)

    I think I have realised the only way to achieve what I want is to log them all the way into the game before handing over control (the first time this happened, my wife just loaded the game and handed the controller over, and the default first menu choice
    was "new Game" and the kid just pressed the buttons and overwrote the previous save)

    @JPep - I never thought of that, it does offer 4 save slots, so will try loading one and saving into an empty one, thanks

    Hi,

    It seems that this is an issue with a corrupt Resident Evil 5 save file. Please check your storage device for any corrupt files noted by a
    ( ! ) symbol. If you see an item like that in your storage device, you will need to delete it unfortunately, there's no way to recover corrupted data.

    You can see if you have a corrupted file by going to your Dashboard > Settings > System > Storage > Hard Drive > Games and Apps > Resident Evil 5.

    I submitted a ticket to Ubisoft which I suggest everyone should do. The more people complain perhaps the more attention it will get. This is the response I received from ubisoft support.

    "It seems that your save file has become corrupted. Unfortunately, there is no way to recover a damaged save file. You will have to either load a previous save or restart the game."

    What a STUPID response! I don't think they even read the issue. It is not a corrupted save file when there is NO save file to be corrupted. I'm with you Malarkey, this game is great but right now I'm freaked out to play it again because I don't want my
    save file to just keep vanashing.

    no, nobody can alter your saved files that have become corrupted, and there's no way to recover old ones

    If a save file is corrupt then there is no way to recover it, unfortunately you would need to delete it and start the game again.

    Has this happened with all your saves or just G3?.
