    Is there any way I can get my old gamertag back without paying?


    My 8-year-old brother changed my gamertag to his name and now I can't get my old tag back without spending $10. I called support and they were unhelpful as always and tried asking me to get my brother, the 8-year-old in third grade, to pay for it, that made me so unbelievably mad. You would think the company with never ending money would have support that could actually fix the problems, but no I just have to fork up another $10 for a name change. This is so stupid that you are only allowed one free name change and the support can't even change it if a mistake happened.

    If it were possible, support would be the only ones who could do it. But it's not possible.

    There is no way to get a free change. You'll have to pay if you want to change it again.
    In my case I registered my Gamertag with a space. This also marked the same tag without a space as reserved. I had to pay a fee to change my Gamertag back to the default name I was assigned, then pay again to change it to a version
    without a space. Absurd and infuriating.

    I wouldn't expect any understanding or humanity out of customer support. They will just recite policy and practice canned empathy.
