Is there any potential to add a slot for Xbox expansion card to the Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X?

I already use and expansion card for my Series X and would love to be able to use it for Ally systems to really get the best out of on the go gaming. I am aware the design has already gone into production to be built, however wanted to know if there might be more models in the future with possible changes to hardware. I know that the device includes an SD slot but would have love to have been able to use the Xbox expansion card as it is a fantastic storage device even with it's high price.

I also notice that the built in storage for the Xbox Ally devices are marketed as easily upgradable, does this mean we will be able to update our own hardware should we wish to? If so I think this would be a great alternative to adding a slot for then expansion card.

no it would not.

The design is finalized and the machine is in production and any accessories that would use would be PC accessories because it is a PC

You should not be running anything at 120hz on a portable device. Your battery will make a flood look tame how fast it empties. I'm sure some games will but it's not a good idea

This is a Windows handheld, and it plays windows games, and only PlayAnywhere games would be playable from your Xbox library

at this time there is no indication that would happen

you could play them through cloud gaming, but these games cannot function natively on a PC which is what this is.

While Xbox shares many of the same technologies, it contains strong digital rights management, as well as a custom architecture that is not compatible with the PC

Based on your description, it seems that you should be experiencing an issue where Xbox is not recognizing your expansion card.

You can try the following steps:

1.Press the Xbox button  to open the guide, select Profile & system > Settings > System > Storage.

2.If you don’t see the Storage Expansion Card listed, remove the card from the back of the console, wait 30 seconds, then reinsert the card firmly into the Storage expansion slot.

3.If you don’t see the Storage Expansion Card in the storage devices page after 30 seconds, remove the card, restart the console, then insert the card again.
