Is there an issue with account creation right now?

My girlfriend is trying to create a Microsoft account so she can buy Minecraft. She was able to get through the email and password part of creating the account, but when she got to the gamertag part, she suddenly was unable to do anything about it. She would type in an account name that she liked, and sometimes it would say "the gamertag didn't work, try another one." Sometimes it would say that the gamertag would work, but when she presses the "Let's Go" button, it would darken like she'd pressed it, then undarken like she'd never even pressed it. After that the gamertag would become unavailable. I'm just wondering if there's a problem with the account creation right now, or if there's something we're doing wrong. Thank you!

Yes, she tried it on her computer and her Xbox and I tried it on my computer, and every system had the same issue.

There is feiniely an outage going on but we still have no confirmation. Are you still having this issue?

Yes, that is most likely what is happening as we are currently receiving multiple reports regarding this particular account creation issue, however, no official announcements have been made by Microsoft .In the meantime we can just perform troubleshooting steps.
