Is there a work around for...

Here's the deal. I'm using a third party wired controller that does not have the headphone/ chat connection port. For right now, I don't want/ need the ability to chat. I also do not have "Kinect". I just want to use the wired controller and have the game
sounds come through my TV speakers. What I don't want is to hear everyone else chatting through my TV speakers. I tried going to settings > preferences but there isn't a "headphone only" chat option. I also don't see any "friends only" options in Privacy.
I would like to just play online with the third party wired controller and not hear others chatting through my TV speakers. Any ideas? Thanks

A work around for joining as a squad

I figured out today that you can invite you friends to a squad and then look for a match. When you get to the screen that asks if you want to join a squad or do it later. I picked "do it later" option. And my friend and I ended
up and the same team. We couldn't spawn on each other, but we were are least on the same team. This is the best I could come up with right now. Maybe someone else has figured out something better.

That's the same thing me and my friend did. We finally gave up and got in seperate games.

Hi there, unfortunately there is no feature on the console itself to change sound/chat options like this, there is a balancing feature for the stereo headset adapter though. see info here:

So this would be an issue the individual would have to work with on their own. Understood. As it stands it is not impossible to fix, it's just not going to be resolved by Microsoft specifically. I'll have to speak with the community on it then, seems like it's similar to the halo servers being recreated. Where there's a will there's a way after all

Hello Sobadnomad, the Kinect and all its hardware and software structure was discontinued years ago by Microsoft, at the moment there is only the Azure Kinect made by Microsoft but for applications and companies and scientific departments.

And here in this community the procedures are more focused on gameplay issues on consoles and PC it is unlikely that Microsoft will launch something in this regard.
