is there a way to stop the *** controller going to sleep??

ok this is really annoying me, when I'm installing a game and I walk away for awhile, I come back and the controller has gone to sleep and my screen has gone dark...I hate this idea, how can I stop it from doing this?

Huh?

You have to actually quit the game when you've finished playing it by pressing the "start/3 lines" button on your controller & picking quit.

Still shouldn't do the things you said when you boot the console up unless having to many things running at the same time is causing issues as you aren't quitting them properly.

Nothing to do with bad design.

You can also mute a player by going to their gamer card via the Guide button on your controller, select 'friends' then scroll right over to recent players. From there you can select the player you wish to mute.

The above mentioned method, that mitchell and ladyeh provided, is by far the quickest, but it only mutes the player for that title. If you want to permanently mute the player (if you run into them in other titles) then the method I listed is the one you
would use.

Either method gets the job done though

There is no way to stop the controller from going to sleep. If you want a feature like this, then make a post on the ideas forums here

As a workaround to prevent the controller going to sleep mode, you might try and use a rubber band to tie one of the analogue sticks into any direction, or put a book or something similar on the controller so the analogue stick is pushed into a direction,
so the controller "thinks" it's being actively used and doesn't go to sleep.

Unfortunately, I don't know of any other way or setting in windows, to prevent the game from "losing" the sleeping controller.

There is a bug in Minecraft that allows hostile mobs to spawn in your house if you have a bed that is too close to a wall. There are ways to stop this but the easiest way is to either sleep in the middle of a spacious room or sleep in a second floor of a
house. Also have adequate lighting in your house.

I had this happen to me, turn the power save options off, so it doesn't sleep. If it sleeps then it will stop the download.
