    Is there a way to stop my Xbox from updating while I am actively playing a game?


    It’s really annoying to get forcefully kicked out of a multiplayer game session for an update. Is there any way to stop this from happening, and maybe just start the update after I am done playing?

    Or at the very least to download it in the background?

    Update forcing disconnect.

    I am sick of these forced updates while playing a game, I constantly lose progress for menial updates that aren't necessary for the game I am playing. My other friends are still playing their game without an update, so what gives xbox? I am one update away
    from trading my system for a Playstation 4. Seriously.

    It is from the console. I am sure is HDD activity, after much time hearing 2,5" HDD from laptops. The fan runs for a while and then stops. But the HDD never stops, if you approach the ear you can always hear some HDD activity. But no real activity, as it
    sounds a millisecond, stops, a ms, stops...like it has nothing to do but doesn't spin down.

    Backwards compatibility has stopped being updated for quite a while now & no more games will be added so the only way to play that game would be to get an original xbox or find out if there is a pc version.
