    Is there a way to show on the screen during gameplay that you are recording on the xbox x...


    Twice now I have attempted to record a series of hours to full fill a challenge and during one of the hours the Xbox was not recording. Is there a way to know that it is recording on screen (like how the timer appears on the screen when recording on PC) for the Xbox or perhaps even the Xbox it self (perhaps flashing or the light change color? Cause it is quite furious, when you complete an hours worth recording to have 13s or nothing

    I understand that you are experiencing issues recording a gameplay on your Xbox.

    I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

    To set your expectation properly, the Xbox Series X/S doesn't offer a visual timer or flashing light on the screen or console to indicate when recording is active, unlike PC recording software. This feature is not yet available in the Xbox Live Services. This is truly a cool suggestion if this happens in the future.

    Are you wanting to record shows from the TV, or gameplay?

    If it's gameplay, you would need an external video capture device and software to record the gameplay.

    If it's TV programs, no. Live TV cannot be recorded from an Xbox One.

    I thought either option should work but didn't want to take a chance on wrecking the charger, cooking a battery or stressing out the X during a gameplay while recording it.

    Yeah but the thing is I want to record Xbox 360 gameplay so that's basically the same as recording Xbox One gameplay so that not like record TV shows or DVD's.

    The so-called "Update" for the Kinect and Voice-Commands.

    And for the record, it's actually become faster to just double-tap your home-button and hit X or Y if you're trying to capture gameplay. But even that's a crap-shoot because it's a 50/50 on whether or not that brings up the "record/screen shot" menu, or
    just takes you out of the game and back to the home-screen.
