    Upgrading Xbox live to include Game pass

    By "xbox live" do you mean xbox gold? If you are adding gamepass separately to gold then you might as well just upgrade to the gamepass ultimate. All the current months will convert to gamepass ultimate. Buying them separately will only be a hassle rather than buying them in one package in ultimate. That's also the only way to keep the auto renew date the same is if you upgrade to the ultimate gamepass.

    Xbox live gold cancelled early

    Game pass ultimate replaces live as it includes that in the package. Otherwise you would be paying for live as well and it wouldnt be required.

    You can revert back by adding just live again but be aware you lose any access to gamepass.

    You should find you have gamepass ultimate for so long as the conversion is different due to cost, when adding more it will give an option to do as live or as gamepass ultimate.

    Personally think the gamepass side is well worth the cost due to the amount and variety of games it allows access to.

    passkey is what you added to the account, nobody else can do that, as for online play you need gold for that, gamepass and gamepass ultimate are optional, gamepass ultimate includes gold, gamepass library and xcloud.

    there have been changes too, as all free to play games no longer require gold to play online.

    I had Game Pass Ultimate from November to February, then cancelled it. I never did the Live Gold to GPU conversion. Can I do that if I sign up for Game Pass again?

    you can convert gamepass or gold to GPU the only thing you have to do is buy a month of ultimate, there is usually discount for new users and the months of gold and gamepass are added to be ultimate or if you only have gold or gamepass become ultimate
