Is there a way to recover an old account

Is there a way for me to recover the old xbox account?

What you need to do is recover the account with the map packs to the new console. Then perform a license transfer, if you do not plan on using the old console anymore, to associate the DLC for that account to the new console.
Doing this will invalidate it on the old console so the only way you would be able to use it on the old console is if you recover the account to it and are logged into XBL.

I'm not sure if theres a way to recover an account if you can not validate through the old one. This would be a security issue.
