Whenyou are out if Video memory on streaming it means the website is leaking memory and NOT releasing it back to your device on a desktop not a problem till it crashes and it takes alot

But a console with strict rules it would cause a crash which is why the browsers are locked down

(Chrome is a.known memory hog so relying on a.mobile device isn't good till it.crashes)

You should never run out of video memory on streaming

Because it would only buffer so much and supposed to release the buffer for the next batch if it doesn't constantly that's when you run out of memory that's the online streamer not the browser

If a desktop user agent is applied to a console it could send 500 mbs and not release it and then send the next 500mbs the browser wouldn't care Because it can rely on system memory plus video memory and unlimited hdd space to buffer

The player should always release memory you should never EVER hit more then 1gig memory on streaming site

You know streaming sites are made for desktops right ?

Not consoles with some supporting mobile

I'd you didn't know look at your browser on your phone or pc

Look at chromes memory fuselage and size

Chrome eata a lot of memory on its own. webpages data even more ram and system resources chrome on mobile can take upto 1gig space if you have active tabs with video the memory usage spikes.you can't do that with consoles

So we established that: Consoles have more memory than my REALLY low tier smart tv and also low tier tablet and even phone. And yet, neither of those devices lag or crash when I stream video from a website. Edge on my Xbox One S lags and crashes and it's the website's fault?
