    Is there a way to have mobs despawn at the place you left off on a server?


    So basically, I was in the nether on my friend's online server minecraft java and got jumped by about 3 hoglins, and left immediately (it's on hard mode, and I was at about half health.) The last time this happened, I waited about a day, then joined back and they were gone. How do I get that to happen again? I am on 2 hearts and very close to lava, and I **REALLY** do not want my stuff to burn.

    Passive mobs have always and will always despawn until breeding is introduced.

    Tip: All Sheep Must Die!

    if you can keep your avatar near the sheep, it won't despawn, and thus the regrow will kick in, but if you wander around, the MOBs will despawn, and what you come back to is effectively new animals.

    Mobs despawn after a while if you aren't around. It should be fixed in an upcoming update.

    Given that mobs despawn the only difference would be that it does away with the enforced tedium of running back to the boss zone.
