Is there a way to get notifications for when my friend, who plays on pc, gets online?

I play on a Xbox console and my friend plays on pc. Although he's favorited on my friends list, I've never gotten notified on my console or through xbox app when he gets online. I do, however, get notifications (on my console and on the app) when he invites me to games/parties.

Please know this would depend on your friend's privacy settings if he sets the "Others can see if you are online" to Everyone, Friends or Only Me. He can set that here.

Same here. I no longer get notifications when friends come online. I only get notifications when a friend is playing the same game as me. Msg notifications and party invites works fine, but it's kinda annoying if you're playing a different game waiting for
your friends to come online.

i am still not getting notifications of when any of my xbox one friends are online or 360, but a friend of mine on who is also on xbox one is getting the notifications. this xbox one has been nothing but a pile of crap since day one!
