Is there a way to force an update for a Elite Controller Series 2 on PC?

Something is amiss with the Xbox Accessories app. I recently bought a Elite Controller Series 2. The controller is detected just fine. But the app fails to update the controller. Or even provide the user feedback there is one.

For me, Im on 4.7xxxxxxxx. This is well over two years old. No update available. My buttons press all different things within the OS. It mutes volume. It raises volume. It's a Bluetooth interface issue, but there is no way to update to resolve this. (EDIT: Happens wired as well. All signs point to firmware)

MANY people online are experiencing this within the last week or so, both on Windows 11 and 10. Microsoft reps are having people replace their controllers... for issues that could be fixed with a decent software stack. Think about the logistics they are putting into replacing the units that just need a firmware update.

All hardware drivers and OS are up to date. Stable Windows 11. This needs attention and love. People spent 200 dollars for a controller, and it's essentially borked on their own platform and software stack.

Its not DNS, forwarding all port 53 straight to Google.

There was a new update released, can you try updating your Elite Series 2 controller again?

I also have the Elite Series 2 controller and I do not run into these issues when using it with the PC.

Same issue. Elite Series 2 on PC, pressing the A Button brings up the Game Bar (a commonly reported problem). The solution is apparently to update the firmware from 4.7.xxxx to whatever the current one is. But I can't do that because the Xbox Accessories app is outdated and won't even register that there is an update to download.

Hello. Yes.

This whole post is about how the app is not functioning correctly. It is bugged and no one is doing anything about it. It has lost all ability to update firmware for Elite Controllers. The button is literally gone. No option.

On a firmware that is more than a year old.

Same issue here. Reddit and other forums also show a lot of people with same issue, no fix yet if you don't have a console nearby apparently.

I think I have the exact same problem. I've just spent £160 on the Xbox Elite 2 controller and am unable to map the paddles as the Xbox Accessories app is out of date. I'm fuming, although somewhat hoping I've just missed something...
